Watch a brief TV program with Karin painting en Plein-Air: As I was painting en plein-air, at my favorite stomping ground Point Lobos, a TV crew from News Channel 10 (Sacramento) happened to pass through, and interviewed me. You can see a segment of this in Jonathan Mumm's well done "California PostCard" on Point Lobos. The whole program is only 3.5 minutes, the brief segment with Karin is towards the end. Poppies Greeting Whales Meadows glow with California gold, Oceans cool with heaven's silver. Two giants spout spring's joy, Countless tiny cups serenade their passage. ~~~ After a meditation retreat at my favorite hermitage, this meadow on Big Sur Highway One, vibrating with poppies, stopped my heart and car. Hastily heisting my everready easle in place, I was rewarded with whales spouting in the azur waters. Talk about a plein-air painter's paradise! May you be poppy and whale blessed ... ~~~ |

Through reproduction, more
people can enjoy a favorite image. On this website you will notice a
few giclée (ghee-clay) prints. At this time, 28 of my paintings are
available as high quality giclée prints. The art of printing has
become even more precise and affordable with this printing process.
A giclée print is as visually rewarding as it is technically amazing,
featuring brilliant, exquisite color and razor sharp detail, almost
identical to the original.
The cornerstone of this process is an enhanced digital inkjet printer, which is specifically designed for the precise criteria of fine art collectors and connoisseurs of museum quality prints. The word giclée is French, and means spurt or squirt, in this case meaning "spray of ink" From hundreds of inkjets more than a million droplets of ink per second are sprayed on watercolor paper. A completed image is compromised of almost 20 billion droplets of ink. The resulting print has no perceptible dot pattern. It's an endless array of richly saturated color, and every nuance of the original image. |
