On the darkest day of the year,

Glorious rebirth of the light.

Incubating long winter's dreams,

Spirit returns, souls rejoice.

Solstice Glow is my tribute to the Winter Solstice and a celebration of our glorious California Sycamore trees.  Don't you just LOVE these gorgeous trees, glowing in exquisite gold this time of year? The one pictured here is a young (they get huge!) Sycamore tree in Pinto Lake Park in Watsonville.

Every morning, even under stormy skies, I am greeted by a gorgeous sycamore tree growing next to our home, glowing in exquisite gold and fiery orange.  Even as the days are short, and the energies of the season pull us inward, this glorious tree's triumphant colors remind me of the return of the light on the winter solstice.  After winter's quiet contemplation, life promises to return, renewing soul and spirit.
